Hello February + 2018 – I’m Back!

I know, I know… kinda late to do a new year’s post when February is already here. I really wanted to publish this post last month, but I found myself editing it way too much. Add a baby into the mix and it becomes impossible! Also, I know I’ve been gone way too long (a year to be exact). I probably don’t even deserve to be called a blogger. It’s okay though, not like I ever considered myself to be one in the first place… lol!

All jokes aside, I really want 2018 to be the year of showing up and getting sh*t done – finally! Although I really wanted to document my pregnancy last year and blog about my work as well, I just kept putting it off. Mainly because I wanted to focus on myself and my growing baby. My full time job during the day was more than enough for me, and knowing myself, I didn’t want to put unnecessary stress that could have probably triggered some anxiety along the way.

The first trimester is never the best, unless you’re one of those lucky few. But even though I endured some minor pregnancy ailments along the way, I was blessed to have a healthy one, but most importantly a healthy baby girl. I also kept myself pretty active. I exercised as much as I could, except for the last few weeks of my 3rd trimester – the struggle was real by then lol! Also, pregnancy changed me a lot this time around ’cause I found myself going natural on most of my health, home, and beauty products.ย 

For the sake of this post, let’s share some iconic throwbacks, just so that I can say I really did blog about my pregnancy!๐Ÿ˜†

…And to keep myself accountable, here are my goals for 2018.ย 

My Top 10 Priorities for 2018

  • Go to sleep early!

Not at 1:00 am or 12:00 am – More like 11:pm – in order to function well in the morning now that I have a baby and her sleeping pattern is more predictable! Not sure how that’s going to happen, since I am literally editing this post at 1:00 am!!

  • Write my to-do’s on that pretty agenda!

Do not leave pages half way empty. Use them. Plan your day accordingly. Stop procrastinating!

  • Read at least 3 books a month

Aiming for 4 good books. Currently reading: The Magic of Thinking Bigย by David J. Schwartz & Audio version: Super Brain: Unleashing the Explosive Power of Your Mind to Maximize Health, Happiness, and Spiritual Well-Beingย by Deepak Chopra and Rudolph Tanzi. These two books are awesome and will definitely have you thinking and taking notes.ย 

  • Blog at least once a week

But really aim for 2-3 posts. I know, who am I kidding? Can I do it? We’ll see! I also want to monetize it + drive traffic to my site through SEO and social media networks.

  • Pray

We need prayer, our families & friends need prayer, the world needs it too.

  • Tithe

When I received the statement the other day for my 2017 contributions from my church, I wanted to cry. It was sad! I have to do better this time.

  • Travel

I need to get away this year. Enough said.

  • Make fun memories with my new baby girl

I still can’t believe I’m a mom to another girl! I pray to God for strength and wisdom during this time in my life. I love mothering this precious child so much – just the way I did my older girls. I mean I still do, but they are not so dependent of me anymore.

  • Purge: donate & sell unwanted items that no longer serve any purpose in my life

I want to simplify my life and live with less things (maybe I should write a future post about that). A few months ago, I started getting rid of things I didn’t need anymore. So, I first started with my closet because I would be sharing it temporarily with my baby girl. So far I’ve sold some of my gently used/still with tags clothings on the Poshmark app. And a few days ago, I learned about the Offerup app. It’s like Craigslist but even better in my opinion. Posting a listing is super easy, and the best part is you start receiving offers right away! Best sellers are: baby items, guitars (I sold mine right away), furniture pieces and most household goods. I could see myself becoming addicted to it since many people actually make offers constantly. I seriously can’t wait to clear out my house from all the unnecessary stuff I don’t need. The air feels lighter already around here!

  • Exercise

I just started Jillian Michaels – 30 Day Shredย workout last week and it’s amazing! I couldn’t wait to start toning up again after having my baby. The time has come, my body is ready, and my goal is to be able to go back to my pre pregnancy weight. About 6-7 lbs left, but if I can lose a little more than that, even better!

My Goals For The New Year

New Year's Goals

Happy New Year friends! I pray that your New Year is off to a good start. I have a feeling this year is going to be awesome! I don’t know why, but that is how I feel. Anyways, I am not the kind of person who writes things in a planner. I usually set goals in my head, but never write them down. Sometimes I blog about them here. When I saw this planner at the store, I just had to buy it! It’s super cuteย and has a whole bunch of motivational quotes inside in the beginning of each month, including the pages where you’re supposed to write down the things you want to accomplish for the month. So, this planner has already helped me get my thoughts more organized (instead of having them scattered in my head). I have already set some goals for this month and the whole year. Here’s a few…

  • Manage my finances wisely (Yes, this is my #1 thing on my list). Why? Because as a Christian, I have to be a good steward of what God has entrusted me. I also want to be able to finish paying my debts (the one that’s killing me the most is a hospital bill).
  • Read a book about finances and business a month to help me reach my goal sooner.
  • Make time for travels and adventures. God willing I want to travel somewhere far this year.
  • Find a new ______ . (Sorry, can’t say yet.) ;-P
  • I also want to revamp this website and turn it into an e-commerce site. I’m looking at the Genesis Framework right now. Any advice will highly be appreciated!
  • Work smarter not harder <— yes, this is my mantra this year. That’s why I got the planner to keep things in perspective!
  • Pray, so that I can accomplish these things with God’s help.

As I look back and reflect on a year full of productivity, creativity, challenges, trials and errors, as well as unexpected twists and turns – I must say, 2015 was a really good year. I am thankful for all the things I was able to accomplish, the experiences and clarity gained, plus the things I learned along the way.
